Confessions of a Publicist

Before the Bee Agency

I dreamed I would be a high school teacher. I wanted to teach theater arts.

On my clients

When I got my first big name client: I sat in the car, and had to pray. I was given the opportunity to take someone’s baby ( their brand) and continue its growth. It still amazes me to this day when people reach out to me to put that trust in me; it’s a blessing.

Power

It’s important for me to be my own boss because: you’re responsible for your own success.

Love and Career

I find balance by: taking one day out of the week to meditate, pray, and pamper myself..If I didn’t I would go crazy. In my field I’m always ON- all day, everyday. I keep my friends (which are my family) very close to me. They keep me grounded.

I have a strong support system, and I had to learn to make time for those who have supported me and had my back. I balance everything by making time for things that matter, besides work.

If I had to choose

The one brand in the world I will like to be a publicist for is: IMG ( Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Karl Lagerfeld, Sean Combs & Essence Magazine )

Ah Ha

The moment I knew this was it was: during The Powerful Women’s Luncheon, when other growing publicists or women I had never met came up to me and introduced themselves to me, and said ” I love your work!” I don’t do PR for fame, money, or to be ‘IN’ I do PR because its what GOD called me to do. I love giving back to the community and being a role model for anyone who wants to achieve anything. It keeps me on my toes.

SooDetroit

I am Brittini Brown and I am SooDetroit, because Detroit is the new Renaissance and I want to be apart of its rebuilding and revitalization. I grew up in Romulus, MI and have spent many summers coming to Detroit and developing a deep love and connection for this city. I believe in the essence of building a reliable professional community network.

Detroit is a hustle hard city and  I’m a go-getter kind of girl. The two go hand and hand.
